Vehicle
More actions
A vehicle is a machine used for transport. Types of vehicles include aircraft, watercraft, amphibious vehicles, and motor vehicles. As of Update 1.163, there are 819 vehicles and if bought from dealer total 73,960,690 WP.
Obtaining edit edit source
Vehicles can be obtained in five ways. Players can have multiple of the same vehicle.
The dealership sells vehicles for WP. If vehicles are out of stock, UP or BP is required and used to purchase the vehicles. The dealership restocks every 10 minutes. Basic livery paint and reflectance can be applied for zero additional cost.
Some vehicles can be converted into different vehicles. Some conversions require flight time on the base vehicle along with a cash cost. Converting a vehicle does not reset flight statistics or the original owner. Most conversions cannot be undone.
Vehicles can be crafted using parts. When all parts of a vehicle (along with a base vehicle if needed) are collected, the vehicle can be crafted at no additional cost.
Special delivery and retirement jobs reward a vehicle when completed. Currently the Airbus A340-200 and the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner are the only vehicles obtained from special jobs.
Badges may award vehicles. The most advanced badges reward special untradeable vehicles. Badges available for a limited time award a vehicle after said vehicle is released. Badge vehicles are the only type of vehicles where conversions can be undone. The spawning of badge vehicles may appear random for people unfamiliar with badge vehicles.
Usage edit edit source
Vehicle can be either freely flown or take jobs. Different vehicles can take different jobs and have special capabilities. Vehicles can be customized to change their look or affect stats.
Vehicles are controlled with either keyboard controls or a mouse. Eight camera modes can be swapped between with the number keys. Lights, aerobatic smoke, engines, and landing gear can be toggled in flight. Brakes and reverse thrust are held and slow down the vehicle. Flying a vehicle drains fuel and condition. Throttle affect the speed and fuel/condition usage of the vehicle. For helicopters, collective affects the lift. Airships can ascend and descend with R and F respectively. Holding the equal key levels out aircraft. Holding shift makes the controls finer.
Vehicles can be refueled while in flight by parking near a fuel tank, turning engines off, and pressing X. Refueling in flight costs the same amount of cash as out of flight, and planes cannot be refueled while in debt. Specific vehicles can be aerial refueled. Vehicles cannot be repaired while in flight.
Types edit edit source
Main article: Types of vehicles
There are ten types of vehicles in the game. Five types are airplanes, three of them are other types of aircraft, and two of them cannot fly.
- Ultralight aircraft are lightweight, 1- or 2-seat fixed-wing aircraft. These are the first aircraft obtainable and are the cheapest.
- Single engine aircraft have a single propeller engine.
- Multi engine aircraft have multiple propeller engines.
- Jet engine aircraft are propelled by one or more jet engines. Jet engine aircraft have the widest variety.
- Supersonic transports are passenger planes that exceed the speed of sound. Non-passenger supersonic aircraft are considered jet engines.
- Helicopters are aircraft that lift due to their rotors. Helicopters are more difficult to control.
- VTOL aircraft can toggle between helicopter controls and jet controls. They can take off and land without the use of a runway.
- Airships are lighter-than-air aircraft that floats and does not need to move to stay airborne.
- Boats are vehicles that move through water. Slow-moving ships, hydrofoils, and submarines are considered boats.
- Ground vehicle drive on land. They have the same controls as airplanes.
Capabilities edit edit source
Each vehicle has different capabilities. Job capabilities determine what jobs can be done by the vehicle.
Vehicle capabilities include:
- Advanced customization are extra customization options, such as weaponry, fuel tanks, and variants.
- Advanced liveries access allows vehicles to have custom detailed liveries. Image IDs are used to apply liveries.
- Curated liveries are cheaper lore airline liveries that can be applied to vehicles.
- Afterburners are toggled with the semicolon key and provide a boost in speed at the cost of using extra fuel and condition.
- Airbrakes are toggled with either the T or Y key and allow the vehicle to be slowed down quickly and use less fuel. These can also come in the form of parachutes.
- Amphibious aircraft can take off and land in either sea or land. They automatically spawn in water.
- AWACS is activated with either the T or Y key and sends a green ping that highlights all surrounding vehicles.
- Cockpits are 3d models shown with camera mode 5. They are purely visual and cannot be used for actually controlling the aircraft.
- Military vehicles can take transport jobs to military locations.
- Ramjets allow vehicles to burn less fuel with afterburners than without afterburners.
- Refueling drogues allow aircraft to refuel other aircraft midair. They must be equipped in advanced customization.
- Refueling probes allow aircraft to be refueled by another aircraft midair. They must be equipped in advanced customization.
- Seaplanes are airplanes that take off and land in water.
- Stealth makes aircraft not visible on the map.
- Tailhooks allow aircraft to take off and land at the OSS Lernivo. They are automatically deployed.
Other various capabilities are toggled with the T and Y keys.
Specifications edit edit source
Each vehicle has different specifications that affect its performance.
- The service ceiling is the maximum height the vehicle can be at before stalling. Vehicles at higher heights burn less fuel but requires a higher speed to maintain flight.
- The stall speed is the minimum speed the vehicle can be at before taking off or stalling at sea level. Higher stall speed affects what airports the vehicle can land or take off at or take jobs to and from.
- The max speed is the maximum speed the vehicle can be at with 100% condition and level flight. Being significantly above the max speed can cause engines to fail.
- The range is the distance at sea level the vehicle can . Flying at higher altitudes improves range.
Rarity affects a vehicle's color and restock chance in the dealership. The base cost of a vehicle determines the cost of buying it in a dealership, fuel, repairs, and customization.
Statistics edit edit source
Certain statistics are logged per vehicle.
- The original owner is the player who originally bought or crafted the vehicle. It is kept while trading.
- The ID is a random identifier to track vehicles.
- The distance travelled is the how far the vehicle has flown in total. Stalls do not count to this statistic.
- The active time is the amount of time the vehicle has flown in total. Stalls do not count to this statistic. When a vehicle reaches 5 hours (300 minutes), it attains epic status.
- Fuel is the amount of fuel a vehicle has remaining. When a vehicle runs out of fuel, its engines no longer function until refueled.
- Condition is how repaired a vehicle is. Lower conditions lowers maximum speed and decreases range. When a vehicle's condition gets too low, engines have a chance of failing.
